The Inglorius Padre Steve's World

Friends of Padre Steve’s World,

Earlier in the week I began to write about the Nuremberg Trials and the opening statement of the American Chief Prosecutor, Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson. The first section was comprised his general remarks. The second dealt with the Nazi war against free organized labor. The third section presented here was the shortest part of his opening statement. It deals with the Nazi battle against the Churches.

The fascinating thing is that religious people and religious institutions are often the most unwavering in support of authoritarian regimes that often turn on them, because the Authoritarian can only allow one savior or God, and that would be him. Adolf Hitler was such a man. Saddam Hussein, Josef Stalin, the Salvadorian dictators, the Caesars, or any number of other men and women who wielded absolute power. 1. Robert, I left a comment on Padre Steve’s site that might interest you. It’s about an interesting documentary on occult influences associated with the forming of the Nazi party. Madame Helena Blavatsky and the Theosophical Society. I found it fascinating.

There is a fair amount of material about the Nazis and the occult, however most of that was led independently of the Theosophical society which had a much larger following in Britain than Germany. Hitler was not influenced by them, he only used religious leaders as political allies. On the other hand, Himmler, the leader of the SS was influenced by the more Germanic occult of the Thule society, and built his SS a combination of Germanic Paganism and the occult. Despite his power his beliefs were a running joke among many high ranking Nazis including high ranking SS members.

  2. Here’s the comment I made on Padre Steve’s blog:
“Muscular Christianity of this kind appealed particularly to young men who despised the feminization of religion through its involvement in charity, welfare and acts of compassion. The traditional Pietist emphasis on sin and repentance, which dwelt on images of Christ’s suffering and transfiguration, was anathema to such men.”
~ I found this excerpt of special interest. It makes so clear the vital importance of the female voice in affairs of war and peace.

  3. Excellent article raising many valuable insights. Line of thought. Nazi’s occult experiments. Nazi experimenters recruited by Western secret services. the occult experiments carried out by same services. Fascists being anti religion as the moral foundation of religion undermines their criminal? ethos. Fascists the enemy of modern civilisation based on Judao-Christian moral values? Umm. What did they intend to replace our civilisation with? Churchill’s comment about the barbarism which would result if the Nazis won (and occurred in the areas where they did win)
Personally I prefer civilisation and criminals stopped, whatever they call themselves.
