MUST SEE 5-minute video (especially for you dumb-ass climate change deniers)

Climate Denial Crock of the Week

Amazing University of Maine animation showing warm air literally pumping into the Arctic, while cold blobs are pushed out into North America.

If you haven’t seen my vid on this, do so now.

  1. Thanks for sharing the video, Robert. I cried several times while reading The End of Ice: Bearing Witness and Finding Meaning in the Path of Climate Disruption by Dahr Jamail. I plan to write a review for a future post.

Are we reaching the climate change deniers and “climate delayers,” as AOC calls them? I don’t know. I know only that I have to find a way to deal with my own grief at how we humans have failed to preserve and conserve the Web of Life on Planet Earth.

During a lecture about grief and climate disruption at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, author and storyteller Stephen Jenkinson, who has worked in palliative care for decades, says: “Grief requires us to know the time we’re in… Grief is required to proceed.” (Quoted from Jamail’s book.)

    • I look forward to your review with great anticipation. It sounds very compelling.

If the readers of my blog are any indication, then I’m afraid we’re not getting through to either the deniers or the delayers. I regularly interact with folks who are not outright deniers, but who stubbornly hold preconceived notions about our climate and who are totally disinterested in learning the science. The short video in this post is superb, yet it hardly garnered any attention. That tells us a lot about the problem, I think.

Yes, grief… I’ve been saying for years that the first step to recovery is acknowledging the problem. But, it’s too big a step for many, unfortunately.
