After Christine Blasey Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee this morning, President Trump’s supreme court nominee Brett Kavanaugh began his testimony which is still in progress. Kavanaugh’s shocking opening statement, which went on for nearly an hour, could be summarized as I’m a good guy, I like beer, and the Democrats are conspiring to ruin my life. It was shocking because his speech was extremely emotional, embarrassingly rambling, and filled with rage. I never would’ve expected a nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court to lose control of himself so dramatically. It appeared to me that Kavanaugh was in serious self-denial about the situation he now finds himself in and that it is challenging his perception of self-entitlement. It also appeared to me that he might be suffering from the psychological effects of alcoholism. Regardless of the numerous sexual misconduct allegations made against him, Kavanaugh’s testimony so far makes him unsuited for such a high office in my opinion.
In contrast, Ford’s testimony was restrained, compelling, and delivered quite credibly. Reliving the trauma of the alleged incident obviously made her uneasy, but she was able to maintain her composure where Kavanaugh was not.
I’ve never seen anything even remotely like this before. Stay tuned.
Thanks for the report. I’ve not watched as I am so enraged by all this it’s hurting my health. I check on it later in little bits, and I knew you’d cover it. Thanks. This whole thing is disgusting. Any semblance of decent morality has been completely shredded from the republicans and their chosen servants. They are sickening human beings.

You’re welcome. I’m not exaggerating, Kavanaugh went into a full-blown emotional meltdown. He’s shouting down the Dem senators, angrily refusing to answer questions, sobbing, and making a spectacle of himself. It’s kind of scary, really.

Wow. You know, the republicans are literally handing the midterms to the dems. If they fuck this up, I’ll send every one of them a nasty letter.

He absolutely did..unhinged angry rambling defiant sarcastic…unbelievable. But he goes to church every Sunday and his daughter prayed for Mrs. Ford. And the prosecutor from Arizona never asked another question after Graham went on an obscene rant. McCain would be turning over in his grave. Graham is sure kissing up to trump for something…perhaps Sessions job?

Wasn’t Lindsey’s performance hilarious? I’m not sure if he was channelling Scarlett O’Hara or Missy on the stairs.

I greatly admire Ford’s stoic composure! Certainly makes her more credible for sure. 🙂

Clarence Thomas dpent his time screaming angrily that he was being lynched. Same tactics K is using. K is a lot more emotional sand extreme than Thomas.
K is very afraid of an FBI investigation of the matter and dies not want Mark Judge or others to be investigated. Most guilty looking person I have seen and worst denial since Thomas.
He does not have the temperament to be a judge on any level. Brain has been fried by too much beer.

Hi Robert,
I have had my grandchildren here all day but my daughter watched the proceedings from first thing this a.m. She’s been sending me updates on FB. I was able to watch Dr. Ford’s testimony but haven’t seen anything else. When Kavanaugh began his testimony, I started getting messages every few minutes. She said almost everything you said and one of the first things she said was, “There’s no way this guy’s got the temperament to be on the Supreme Court!” That was in the first few minutes. According to her, things went downhill from there.
We’ll see how the Republican Party handles their man.

It’s hard to predict. If Republican senators are unified, he’ll be confirmed. However, Jeff Flake expressed “doubts” at the conclusion of the hearing and he could kill the nomination all by himself tomorrow. Also, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski could kill it next week if they both vote against Kavanaugh. It’s that close.

And they’d also DEMAND an FBI investigation to clear this all up. He’s terrified of that because it’ll dig up more shit his privileged, rich, drunken ass did. The little brat’s past has come back to bite him in his wealthy ass.

So, what happens now?

He gets confirmed, and all this continues with him on the bench. If dems win the House, they’ll have a lot of evidence to impeach him, but the Senate will never uphold it. If dems fuck this up, I simply don’t know what to say. Repukes are begging them to win next month, but they very well may not. They’re dems.

How easy is it to impeach a justice?

It’s the same as for a president, I believe.

Same as the president, I believe. House impeaches and the senate must have 67 senators agree to convict and remove. That ain’t gonna happen. Conspiracy nut, alcoholic, rapist, Kavanaugh is getting a lifetime position as a Supreme Court justice. MAGA!!!

Republicans are meeting tonight to assess the vote count. They could hold a committee vote tomorrow and a floor vote early next week. The key undecided GOP senators are Jeff Flake, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski.

Win the house and the senate and the WH and then increase the number of justices to 11, or 13. There’s nothing in the constitution saying there has to be 9. Dem president selects 3, senate confirms.

Just listened to Kavanaugh’s statements regarding Dr. Ford’s allegations. He did not seem honest. He was probably trying to sound aggrieved, but it came across as an act. Moreover, he dodged several crucial questions. General impression: He could be guilty of the charges. After hearing him speak, I would not trust him to be a nonpartisan jurist. An FBI investigation will probably find proof of sex offenses, offenses he has denied under oath.
