In the larger pool of registered voters, McInturff points to warning signs for Republicans. They trail Democrats among moderates and independents by more than 30 points; they’re losing women ages 50 and older by nearly 20 points; and they’re behind among voters living in competitive congressional districts by 12 points, 53 percent to 41 percent.
Additionally, a combined 59 percent of voters say they’d like to see either “a great deal of change” or “quite a bit of change” in the direction Trump has been leading the country.
That includes 61 percent of independents and even a third of Republican respondents.

Man, I HOPE this is true and we win in Nov. I’m SO afraid we won’t. Until I wake up on Nov 7th and see otherwise, I’m still very doubtful. I’ve been wrong fairly often about such things recently, and I hope that’s the case now. These numbers in these polls are pretty damning of repukes. That makes me smile from ear to ear. After they bash the shit out of Dr. Ford on Thursday, these numbers should be even worse for them. Dr. Ford is an incredibly brave woman. I couldn’t do what she’s attempting to do Thursday.

Yes, she is a very brave woman.
The dynamic of the midterms has been set. It will be a referendum on Trump. But, once again, turnout will be key and that is difficult to predict. Will suburban women turn on him en masse? Will young people finally realize the importance of voting? We’ll see.
