The United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly backed a measure critical of President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel despite U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s warning that the move could put funding for their nations and the global body at risk.

The non-binding UN resolution passed on Thursday by a vote of 128-9, with 35 nations abstaining. The U.S. vote in opposition was joined by countries including Guatemala, Nauru and Micronesia. Key abstentions came from Australia, Canada, Argentina and Romania.

  1. tRump has no clue about such things as historical cumulative consensus, the historical method, or much less highly informed foreign policy. This is blatantly clear by his track-record of spouting off nonsense before any sort of forethought.

    That said, not only is Palestine STILL an occupied region by an invading Zionist-Israeli force since 1947 — pushed by the Allied victors and the U.N., including major-mover the U.S. via the 1917 Balfour Declaration — but Dr. Juan Cole provides 10 major reasons why Jerusalem does NOT belong to the Jews and therefore can never be a “capital.” To dream so is completely and categorically absurd:
