Very soon, a large portion of an ice shelf in Antarctica will break off and collapse into the ocean. The name of the ice shelf is Larsen C; it is a major extension from of the West Antarctic ice sheet, and its health has implications for other ice in the region, and sea levels globally.

    • Well, well… I can’t wait to read what you’ll experience there! As bad as climate change is impacting the Antarctic, the situation is even worse in the Arctic. From what I understand, everyone who lives and works up there – regardless of their politics – says that the region is undergoing rapid and profound environmental changes. If you can, I’d suggest talking with as many people as possible. For some, anecdotal stories carry more weight than the complex science of global warming. I’ll reblog your post if you write one.
