The Trump administration’s war on the media escalated Thursday, when Trump’s chief strategist, Steve Bannon, called the media “the opposition party.” In a New York Times article published Thursday, Bannon said, “The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut.” Bannon is the former head of right-wing Breitbart Media, which frequently publishes racist, sexist, anti-immigrant and xenophobic news.
