The Conflicted Puppeteer
Ring-a-ding, ding, pull that string,
watch the puppet dance and sing.
It laughs, then cries, a delicate romance,
performed on the rickety stage of chance.
The show is so beautiful for all to see,
but the players struggle to make it be.
The puppet, you see, is not supposed to feel,
only to respond since it isn’t really real.
And, the puppeteer should never be shown,
else, the purpose of the play will be blown.
But, this puppeteer was conflicted and confused,
the show was cut short, and the puppet lay bemused.
