Last Thursday, the Kuwaiti city of Mitrabah reached a temperature of 54 degrees Celsius (129.2 degrees Fahrenheit).  The U.N.’s weather agency, the World Meteorological Organization, said this reading will likely set a new high temperature record for the eastern hemisphere;  and, it is now attempting to verify that claim.
