The US state of Utah has become the first to declare pornography a public health risk in a move its governor says is to “protect our families and our young people”.

The bill does not ban pornography in the mainly Mormon state.

However, it calls for greater “efforts to prevent pornography exposure and addiction”.

Commentary by The Secular Jurist:  In a related move, Utah’s socially conservative Mormon Republicans are working on additional legislation to:

  • Require all large-breasted women to wear buttoned-up overcoats even on hot days.
  • Outlaw young, beautiful women from displaying their sensuous skin in public.
  • Make it a misdemeanor offense for handsome, buffed males to talk with married women in public places.
  • Force adolescent boys to wear armor-plated chastity belts to prevent masturbatory behavior.
  • Mandate police to shoot on sight all domestic dogs and cats engaging in sexual activity.
  • Urge pet owners to immediately spank any canine who humps a human’s leg, or any feline who offers her sexual favors to any other creature other than another feline.

  1. You guys can laugh, but conservative Utah is surprisingly progressive. Utah takes good care of homeless people (Housing First), was the 1st state to allow online voting (2016 Utah Caucus), and almost legalized medical marijuana!
