Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has ordered state officials to cut off funding for Planned Parenthood and its affiliates through the state Medicaid program, a move the organization said on Wednesday it would challenge in court.
Brownback, a Republican, said in his state of the state address on Tuesday that he would direct the state health secretary to ensure that no taxpayer money go to Planned Parenthood, which he said trafficked in baby body parts.

Unreal. Man, we are not headed into dark times in our country, we’re deep in them already. I try not to, but I grow more pessimistic every day. WTF has happened?

I’m growing more pessimistic too. The reasons why this is happening are complex, but I’ve tried to explain it with various daily posts on this blog. The sum total of them paints a fairly representative picture, though it’s virtually impossible to encapsulate everything in a concise manner. Maybe that’s why we can’t seem to get a handle on it – the problem is just too big.
