Kim Davis, the Rowan County Clerk in Kentucky who served jail time for refusing to comply with a federal judge’s order for her to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, has reluctantly accepted America’s foundational Separation of Church and State.

Davis returned to work today and stated that she would not interfere with deputy clerks who had begun issuing those licenses during her five-day stint behind bars.

Her god – if it exists – apparently chose not to assist Davis in her legal battle, nor to use the opportunity created by Davis to redefine the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Kim Davis must now reconcile this incongruity in her own mind.

  1. I don’t see how she has a job. The action most employers take when an employee refuses to do their job is to fire them. Jail wasn’t needed. Davis being fired was. No fan fair. No press. Just, “Ms Davis, you’re fired.”

    • God has much bigger plans than just the legal woes of Kim Davis, same-sex marriage, and America’s Separation of Church and State. According to some Mormons, God will initiate the Apocalypse on September 28th. From the Inquisitr:

Mormons are pointing to a few specific signs that have heralded the apocalypse. But the panic and preparation is all based on the belief of some preppers that history is divided into seven-year periods. The evidence: seven years after 9/11, the stock market crashed. And that was seven years ago — meaning that the world is due for another calamity.

This time around, the signs include instability on Wall Street, the unstable Chinese Yuan, and the beginning of the Jewish High Holy Days (which started September 13). Another financial crisis is due to strike, according to this latest apocalypse theory, and all because of “wickedness” in the U.S.

So why September 28? Is the end of days really on a specific schedule? Well, September 28 is the day the Blood Moon is set to arrive. This lunar event has followed four consecutive eclipses, also an ominous sign according to some Christians — Mormons in particular, Catholic Online added.
